New Delhi, June 25 (HS): On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to Egypt's Al-Hakim Mosque. The Prime Minister will pay tribute to an important historical and cultural landmark from the 11th century in Cairo, Egypt. The Al-Hakim Mosque is a monument to the rich cultural legacy that India and Egypt share. What makes this visit even more significant is the spectacular renovation of Al-Hakim mosque, which was made possible by the Dawoodi Bohra community's unrelenting devotion and assistance.
The centuries-old history of the Al-Hakim mosque stands as a beacon of religious and historical significance, demonstrating the blending of Indian and Egyptian traditions. The Prime Minister will also pay respect to Indian troops who made heroic sacrifices during the First World War at the Heliopolis War Grave Cemetery in Egypt, strengthening the historical tie between the two nations.
PM Modi will then meet with the Indian diaspora in Egypt. The participation not only strengthens people-to-people relationships, but also gives the diaspora a platform to contribute to economic growth and cultural exchange between the two countries.
PM Modi will be in Egypt for two days, from June 24 to June 25. It is a follow-up to President El-Sisi's appearance as the Chief Guest at India's Republic Day celebrations earlier this year. President El-Sisi's visit to India was a huge success, with both countries agreeing to upgrade their relations to the level of strategic cooperation. As part of his two-day visit to Egypt, the Prime Minister met with thought leaders on Saturday.
PM Modi had a fruitful conversation with Hassan Allam, CEO of one of Egypt's leading enterprises working in the Middle East and North Africa area. The two leaders talked about how they might work together more closely with Indian enterprises in renewable energy and green hydrogen.
Arindam Bagchi, the Ministry of External Affairs' official spokesperson, posted on Twitter, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Mohamed Medhat Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Properties in Cairo, Egypt." PM @narendramodi met with Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding Company, one of Egypt's leading enterprises operating in the Middle East and North Africa area."
