PM’S MASTER STROKE
There is a proverb “everything is fair in love and war”. Similarly everything is fair in the chess of politics. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that the government has decided to repeal three farms laws which were the center of protest by the farmers from the past about one year. Modi stated the three laws were for the benefit of the farmers but we could not convince a section of farmers despite our best efforts. Thus, Modi in a master stroke has brought the opposition on back foot especially on the issue of farms laws. He also accepted the demands of the masses and political parties to re-open the Kartapur Corridor. Modi and Amit Shah are known as a game changer and similarly they have tried their best to defuse the prevailing tension due to three farm laws. Whatever may be the thinking of the opposition parties in Punjab, but one thing is clear that Modi is known for fulfilling his commitments whichever he makes with the masses. Former Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh has hailed the announcement of Modi and stated that it is the soft hearted decision of the PM for the farmers. He has advocated that his party can go for an alliance in Punjab with BJP. There are number of pros and cons and perceptions in politics but it is clear that Modi has certainly succeeded in diffusing the current prevailing tension among the peasantry. It may be termed as one’s victory or one’s defeat. But, it is the respect to sentiments of the farmers given by Modi. It is clear that BJP high command will certainly try to boost the morale of its cadre in Punjab.
CHANNI BUSY IN MAKING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi is leaving no stone unturned in making announcements before the implementation of model code of conduct in the state. He is on the toes to directly interact with the masses and making announcements giving freebies and bonanzas to different sections of the society. On the other hand, the Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is also leaving no opportunity in spelling out words for caution to Channi in regard to his announcements. Meanwhile, Channi has welcomed the decision of Modi for re-opening of Kartarpur Corridor. Political analysis are trying to read between the lines. The PPCC In-charge for Political Affairs Harish Chaudhary is also actively carrying out series of meeting with the party workers.
POLL ALLIANCE/S?
Due to the changing political scenario in Punjab it is difficult to predict that which political party will go for a pre or post assembly elections alliance. Presently, SAD is having an alliance with BSP. Therefore, now once again “aya ram gaya ram” politics is likely to be increased in the state.
CHARISMATIC APPROACH
Punjab Senior BJP leaders Madan Mohan Mittal, Manoranjan Kalia, Tikshan Sood, Avinash Rai Khanna, Rajinder Bhandari, Prof Laxmi Kanta Chawla, Dr Baldev Raj Chawla, Master Mohan Lal and Tarun Chug must show their talent and approach towards the masses for winnability of the party candidates in the coming assembly elections. It is an appropriate time for the party to open its doors for all those who are interested to join it. There are senior party leaders in Punjab who can prove to be a game changer in the coming days in regard to strengthening of the organisational structure and woo the masses towards the party.
