Post Office orgnised Special Camps for Sukanya Samriddhi accounts
The Department of Posts, Ludhiana City Division, Ludhiana has conducted a special drive of opening of Sukanya Samridhi Accounts to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahautsav-Mega Mela. The celebrations are part of the initiative of the Government of India to celebrate & commemorate 75 years of our independence & achievements.

Ludhiana, February 10, 2023: The Department of Posts, Ludhiana City Division, Ludhiana has conducted a special drive of opening of Sukanya Samridhi Accounts to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahautsav-Mega Mela. The celebrations are part of the initiative of the Government of India to celebrate & commemorate 75 years of our independence & achievements.
During this drive the Department of Posts has committed to open 7.5 Lakhs Sukanaya Samridhi on all India basis, in respect of all eligible girl children. Ludhiana City Division, Ludhiana has contributed handsomely in this endeavour by opening a large number of accounts.
Ludhiana ADC (Urban Development), Ludhiana Anita Darshi, District Education Officer) (SS) Harjit Singh, Dr. Amanpreet Singh SSRM, ‘LD’ Division Ludhiana have graced the function. Apart from the above, Sub Divisional Heads, Sub Postmasters, parents of girl Child-beneficiaries of Sukanya Samridhi Accounts were also present on the occasion.
Vikas Sharma Superintendent Of Post Offices, City Division, Ludhiana has addressed the gathering and elaborated about Sukanya Samridhi Yojna as how we can make a safe & healthy future for a girl child by investing a small amount through this account. The public was also made aware of different kinds of Postal Services. A detailed discussion was held on POSB schemes, Recurring Deposits, Monthly Income Schemes, Senior Citizens Schemes, Time deposits & Postal Life Insurance.
During the said function representatives of Central Govt. & State Govt i.e ADC (UD), Distt. Education Officer (SS) and SSRM ‘LD’ Division RMS Ludhiana also addressed the gathering and impressed upon the urgency of opening of Sukanaya Samridhi Accounts in our current social setup. Anita Darshi Development motivated the staff present and assured every kind of help in the organization of Sukanaya Samridhi Account camps.
Girl child beneficiaries were also honoured along with their parents on this occasion.
