Poster making competition to mark the 457th birth anniversary of William Shakespeare
The Department of English of Apeejay College of Fine Arts organized the event
Jalandhar: The Department of English of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised Poster Making Competition to mark the 457th birth anniversary of William Shakespeare - the bard of Avon. He is one of the most significant literary figures of Western English Literature who has left his permanent mark in the form of world classic dramas and sonnets. The literary genius was a renowned actor as well in his times.
In the inter - departmental competition, 37 students participated in it. They made the bard's portrait along with influential quotes and life changing dialogues from his works.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra on this occasion talked about Shakespeare's humble birth and his ancestral home which has been now preserved in England. She put forth that it was his utter dedication and hard work that he is alive today amongst us even after 4 and half centuries. She motivated the students for such kind of hard work and dedication to pursue their goals in life and also congratulated all the winners and appreciated their work.
Komal Rajpal , BA Semester 6th , Muskaan Kohli , B Com Semester 6th and Sukoon Singh - BD- Multimedia Semester 2 stood first, second and third respectively.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Sunit Kaur and her department for guiding the students and creating the opportunity for them to learn about the important personalities of the times.
