Poster Writing Competition on "One Earth, One Family, One Future" organized at Home Science College
The rapid depletion of our energy resources, loss of biodiversity, unpredictable disasters and global warming raise an alarming concern throughout the world. Recognizing climate change as a global phenomenon, India has adopted sustainable development as one of its objectives of G-20 presidency.
Chandigarh, January 25, 2023: The rapid depletion of our energy resources, loss of biodiversity, unpredictable disasters and global warming raise an alarming concern throughout the world. Recognizing climate change as a global phenomenon, India has adopted sustainable development as one of its objectives of G-20 presidency. In order to acquaint students with the theme of India's G-20's presidency i.e. 'One Earth, One Family, One Future', poster making competition was organized in the college with special emphasis on the causes and consequences of the climate change at a global level. Students were also apprised of the dire need to shift towards renewable energy resources to preserve our limited resources for the future generation.
The Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Kayal, encouraged the students to play a pivotal role in finding solutions to preserve our eco-system at a global level. While appreciating the pro-activeness of the students, she also advised them to work relentlessly towards reducing carbon foot-print by shifting towards renewable and energy efficient resources.
