Power Minister conducts surprise check in PSPCL office to check attendance, pulls up latecomers
Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Monday conducted a surprise inspection in Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to keep a check on the attendance of employees.
Ludhiana, May 22, 2023: Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Monday conducted a surprise inspection in Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to keep a check on the attendance of employees.
Many employees who turned up late at the office promptly received a stern warning from the Minister himself.
Accompanied by MLA Madan Lal Bagga, The Minister reached the PSPCL office at 7.50 am on Ferozepur road and personally checked the attendance registers of employees and called one by one all the employees posted at various branches and checked their physical presence. After finishing the checking, he said that the purpose of the surprise visit was to ensure that the staff of the department remains present on duty timely. He also asked them to wear their identity cards during the duty.
Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO clearly told the officers that there should not be any kind of mismanagement in the functioning and people must not suffer for getting their work done. He motivated them to facilitate the people in getting their day-to-day works done easily without causing any inconvenience.
The Minister asked them to achieve the target of zero percent pendency as this would instill the trust among the people over the government and its functioning.
The Minister said that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was committed to implementing the pro-people and development- oriented policies for benefiting the masses. He said that the government would ensure eight hours of power supply to the farmers in the upcoming paddy sowing season and there will be no power shortage in the Punjab as adequate arrangements have already been made by PSPCL. He said that Ludhiana being an Industrial hub of the country, PSPCL was determined to ensure uninterrupted power supply to them for their industries so that they can continue their operations without any power cut.
Senior officers of PSPCL were also present on the occasion.
