Powercom employees to hold protest rally at Patiala on Oct 10

Ferozepur, September 26, 2012 : On the call of Joint Forum, Punjab, the employees of Ferozepur City Sub Division and Suburban Division, Ferozepur, today hold a joint rally at Power House, Ferozepur City , under the presidentship of Saathi Surajpal Singh, divisional president in which Saathi Surinder Sharma, circle president, Surjit Kumar and Bishan Singh and others were the special invitees.

Addressing the rally, Saathi Surajpal Singh and Saathi Surinder Sharma said, Powercom is not implementing the agreement agreed with the Joint Forum on July 25, 2012 and thousands of sanctioned regular posts have been abolished as per report of PWC.

Surinder Sharma said, the works connected with regular and revenue are being got done through out-sourcing from foreign companies causing a huge loss to the department whereas the installment due on August 15, 2012, for the arrears to the employees on account of revision of pay scales is not being released by the Powercom management.  There is a great resentment amongst the employees. 

Moreover, to maintain the difference of pay scales of Powercom and Punjab Government employees, the work of grade pay is unnecessary being delayed at the level of Wage Formulation Committee and instead of regularising the adhoc employees, they are being retrenched.

The leaders of Joint Forum Punjab informed that in case their demands are  not accepted, they will hold a huge rally at Head Office Patiala on October 10 and all the Powercom employees in Punjab will proceed on one day strike on October 18.
