PPCB SE to prepare report on oxygen cylinders in possession of industry
Most industries/factories use oxygen cylinders in their premises
Ludhiana:
In the wake of increased demand for medical oxygen in the treatment of serious Covid-19 patients by the hospitals, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Wednesday deputed Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) Superintendent Engineer to collect the details about empty cylinders with industry in Ludhiana.
Sharma said that being the industrial capital of Punjab, most industries/factories use oxygen cylinders in their premises. He said that PPCB SE would compile a report about the number of empty cylinders in possession of industries/factories at the earliest and would be responsible to submit the report to ADC (General) so that administration can immediately contact the industries/factories in case of need.
Earlier on Monday, the DC had urged all the industries/factories to make available empty or filled oxygen cylinders to plants as the same was required for filling oxygen gas so that they could be provided to hospitals to save many precious lives battling Covid-19 disease. He had warned those not adhering to these directions to face action under the NDMA Act, 2005 and epidemic disease Act, 1897.
