Chandigarh, July 11, 2013: The Punjab Government today placed the services of Mohan Lal, PPS Superintendent of Police under suspension, with effect from June 26, 2013, who was arrested on the charge of abetment to suicide.
Disclosing this today an official spokesperson of Home Affairs said that the suspension order of the officer has been issued after his arrest in the case of abetment to suicide of Lovepreet Kaur, who committed suicide by jumping down from an apartment in Rishi Apartment, Zirakpur.
The suspension order has been issued under Punjab civil services (Punishment & Appeal) rules 1970, section (4) (2) (A). During suspension, Director General of Police, Chandigarh would be his headquarter.
