Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana Week started in District Ludhiana

Ludhiana, December 2, 2019: Matru Vandana Week, a week-long maternity benefit programme taken up under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) started in the district today.
District Programme Officer Mr Jagmail Singh informed that 23383 beneficiaries have been benefitted under this scheme in district Ludhiana till date.
He informed that to avail benefits under PMMVY, the concerned lady has to get registered at the nearest Aanganwari Centre within 150 days of her pregnancy. After registration, the first instalment of Rs 1000 is given to the lady, the second instalment of Rs 2000 is given on the completion of her 6 months of pregnancy, and on the completion of at least one ante natal checkup, while the third and last instalment of Rs 2000 is given on the registration of the birth of child and after the completion of the baby’s first immunisation schedule.
He informed that awareness rallies have been organised in different parts of the district, in which first time mothers were made aware.
