Ludhiana, January 31, 2025 :  PCTE Group of Institutes organized a highly informative pre-budget session today, which was attended by students from the B.Com and B.B.A. departments. The session was graced by distinguished guest speakers, CA Abhishek Garg and CA Sumit Kumar, who shared their expert insights on a variety of economic topics relevant to the upcoming national budget.

Dr. Roshanpreet Kaur, the B.Com Coordinator of the Department of Business Management, extended a warm welcome to the guests and provided an overview of the agenda for the gathering. The session was interactive, with students actively engaging with the speakers on key financial and economic issues.

CA Abhishek Garg discussed a range of critical topics, including the Finance Act, budgetary policies, globalization, Goods and Services Tax (GST), World Trade Organization (WTO), and tax slabs. The speakers also addressed several intriguing questions from the students. Key questions included inquiries about potential tax reductions in the upcoming budget, sectors where government spending should be focused to reduce inequality and foster national development, and how the government manages to offer freebies amidst a fiscal deficit. One particularly interesting query raised was regarding the three different taxes levied on popcorn in India, to which the speakers provided detailed explanations.

The session provided valuable insights, enabling students to understand complex financial matters in a simplified manner, contributing to their academic and professional growth.
