Pre-Republic Day Selection Trials Camp-2024 successfully held at Central University of Punjab, Bathinda
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell, Central University of Punjab in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of NSS, Chandigarh, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MoYAS), Government of India, and the State NSS Cell, Punjab, successfully organised the State Level Selection Trial for the Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp 2024 at university campus on Friday.
Bathinda, October 7, 2024: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell, Central University of Punjab in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of NSS, Chandigarh, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MoYAS), Government of India, and the State NSS Cell, Punjab, successfully organised the State Level Selection Trial for the Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp 2024 at university campus on Friday.
The event, held in the CU Punjab, under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, was aimed to select participants for the prestigious Republic Day Parade 2025 at Rajpath, Delhi. Total 47 students representing different institutions from across the state enthusiastically took part in the rigorous selection process.
The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Jai Bhagawan, Regional Deputy Director, Regional Directorate of NSS, Chandigarh and Shri Raghveer Singh Maan, Assistant Director of Youth Services, Bathinda.
Towards the end, Prof. Deepak K. Chauhan, Programme Coordinator, NSS-CU Punjab, expressed gratitude towards guests and participants. He also praised organizing team comprising Dr. Sameer, Dr. Satpreet Singh Jassal, Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma and Mr. Sukhnaib Singh for ensuring smooth functioning of the trials.
It is pertinent to mention that last year, two students from the Central University of Punjab were selected for the Republic Day Parade Camp and represented the university in the Republic Day Parade held in New Delhi.
The selection trial for the Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp 2024 concluded on a high note, with selected participants moving forward to represent Punjab at the national level. The name of selected candidates will be announced in the second week of October 2024. The university community extended its support to the organizing team and participants, marking the event as a significant success.
