Preet Sahitya Sadan organised discussion on Dr Ajay Sharma's 9th Novel 'Kagad Kalam Na Likhanhaar'
Ludhiana: Preet Sahitya Sadan organised a discussion on Dr Ajay Sharma's 9th Novel 'Kagad Kalam Na Likhanhaar' recently. Mamta Jain and Anu Puri read papers on the book. Dr Anil Pandey from LPU was among those who also expressed their views about the novel. Speakers expressed their views in detail about theme of the novel, its characters and relevance of the subject in the present era. It was revealed that the novel was based on the functioning of the media. The novel highlighted the hidden dark and bitter aspects of corporate sector in the media. Speakers regretted that the media was functioning like a puppet in the hands of corporate sector. It was stated that corporate sector was using media as a tool to fulfil its vested interests and hidden agendas. Those working in the media houses were not free to work and everyone was bound to work according to wishes of their bosses. Some characters build-up in the novel were also discussed in detail. Some of the speakers attempted to reveal psychology of these characters. In his address, Dr. Ajay Sharma apprised the gathering about his writings. Dr Balwinder from Jalandhar presided over the literary function. Sagar Siyalkoti was the chief guest. Sangeeta Bhandari attended the event as special guest. The second part of the function was dedicated to poetry on 181st birth anniversary of Pt Shardha Ram Phillauri - author of the internationally acclaimed prayer "Om Jai Jagdish Hare", in which about 30 budding and established poets recited their poems in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. The stage was conducted by Manoj Preet.
