Preet Sahitya Sadan, Ludhiana organised a book release and poetry symposium on Sunday evening which was presided over by Dr. Poonam Sapra.
Ludhiana, September 30, 2024: Preet Sahitya Sadan, Ludhiana organised a book release and poetry symposium on Sunday evening which was presided over by Dr. Poonam Sapra.
In this function, Rama Sharma read a paper on Manoj Dhiman's book `Birju Naai Ki Dukan' (novel). Rama Sharma also read a paper written by Mamta Jain on Manoj Dhiman's second book `Jagte Raho' (short story collection) in her absence. In both the papers, Manoj Dhiman's books were discussed in detail and many issues raised in these books were discussed. It was discussed how many stories have been woven into the form of a novel in `Birju Naai Ki Dukan' and an attempt has been made to raise many issues simultaneously. The inner layers of many short stories recorded in the book `Jaagte Raho' were opened one by one.
Seema Bhatia read a paper on Manjit Kaur Meet's book `Awaaz' (story collection) and discussed the features of the stories. She said that the problems and issues related to women and society have been raised in this book. Manoj Dhiman and Manjit Kaur `Meet' also addressed the program and briefed about themselves and their writings. Both said that they take the topics for their writings from the events happening in the society, country, world and the surrounding environment. Manoj Dhiman said that his next novel will be based on technology on which he has done a lot of work. He hoped that this novel will be in the hands of the readers next year.
Manoj Preet who conducted the stage, congratulated Manoj Dhiman and Manjit Kaur `Meet' for their new books and spoke about the activities of Preet Sahitya Sadan that such literary programs are being organised for the last 30-35 years.
In the first session of the programme, papers on books were read and in the second session, a poetry symposium was organised, in which Sanjeev Dawar and others recited their poems.
Present on the occasion were, among others, Principal Sanjeev Dawar, Zorawar Singh Panchhi, Kajal, Jagjit Singh Gurm, Darshan Singh Boparai, Jasvir Singh Jhajj, Ashfaq Jigar, Dilip Kumar, Sharif Ahmed Sharif, Paramjit Singh, Asha, Paul K Chand, Kewal Deewana, Narendra Soni, Avinashdeep Singh, Satish Chand and others.
