Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi felicitate KMV’s Dr. Sangeeta Prasher and Dr. Tank Sinderpal 

Jalandhar, March 5, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) faculty members Dr. Sangeeta Prashar, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Physics and Dr. Tank Sinderpal Kabal Singh, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Chemistry participated in a four-day Leadership Development Workshop for women scientists in Space and Allied Sciences organised by Department of Science and Technology (DST) in collaboration with the British Council under the UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI). KMV was the only institution from Punjab to be part of this empowering workshop. 

The event was hosted at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, Centre of Continuing Education. This workshop, a part of the Women in Space and Allied Sciences Leadership Programme (WiSLP), aimed to empower early and mid-career women scientists aspiring for leadership roles in their respective fields. The initiative focused on eliminating skill gaps in space science, nurturing leadership identities, overcoming communication challenges, and mastering intellectual property rights, governance, and financial management for effective decision-making. The workshop featured distinguished faculty Professor Sariya Cheruvallil-Contractor and Associate Prof Dr Rami M. Ayoubi from Coventry University, UK, as well as prominent Indian experts. Through interactive sessions, mentoring, and practical insights, the participants gained exposure to global best practices in leadership, technical and strategic skills, and effective governance models. The program included sessions on Driving Innovation to Impact: IPR and Technology Commercialization, Ethics and Governance in Scientific Leadership, Leadership Traits and Career Development Pathways, Financial Management in Academic Institution, Negotiation, Influencing, and Soft Power in Leadership. 

Dr. Sangeeta Prashar and Dr. Sinderpal speaking on their achievement paid their gratitude to Principal Prof. Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi for providing them opportunity to attend the workshop as the dynamic leadership of Madam Principal has been instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
