Procter & Gamble contributes INR 5 crore towards vaccination of citizens in Telangana

Hyderabad: Procter & Gamble today announced that the company has contributed INR 5 Cr to the state authorities towards vaccination of citizens in Telangana. This donation is in line with P&G’s pledge to contribute towards 10 lakh vaccines doses in the country. Under its #PGSurakshaIndia program, P&G will also continue to extend its support to the broader community in Telangana through donation of products, in-house manufactured masks and sanitizers especially to aid frontline and essential workers who are tirelessly working to combat the spread of COVID-19.

 

Sachin Sharma, Plant Head – Hyderabad, P&G India said, “We recognize the urgent need to come together as one in our fight against the pandemic. We are proud to announce that we have contributed INR 5 crore to the state government towards vaccination of citizens in Telangana. In the current situation and going forward, vaccines play a critical role in containing the spread of the virus. We strongly believe that partnering with government and local authorities, who are leading the inoculation initiatives for citizens will enable us to make a meaningful difference to the communities we operate in.”

 

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, through its #PGSurakshaIndia program, P&G has stepped up to support the health, safety, and wellbeing of its employees, its consumers and the communities. In Telangana, P&G has distributed more than 3.5 Lakh sanitary pads to women and adolescent girls in shelter homes and child care institutions in partnership with government, distributed more than 1 Lakh diapers, donated more than 1 Lakh masks and sanitizers. P&G also partnered with the government and industries to kickstart an initiative called 'Suraksha Circles' to lay down the highest standards of hygiene and safety at manufacturing facilities in Telangana.
