Prof. Anurag Singh’s book ‘Wisdom of Adi Guru Granth Sahib- An Oecumenical Scripture’ released
The Ramgarhia Educational Council, in collaboration with the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Charitable Trust of village Raqba, Ludhiana, held a Seminar and Book Release Event at Baba Gurmukh Singh Hall, Ramgarhia Girls College, today.
Ludhiana, December 20, 2023: The Ramgarhia Educational Council, in collaboration with the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Charitable Trust of village Raqba, Ludhiana, held a Seminar and Book Release Event at Baba Gurmukh Singh Hall, Ramgarhia Girls College, today.
The book under consideration is a trilingual research work by Prof. Anurag Singh titled ' Wisdom of Adi Guru Granth Sahib: An Oecumenical Scripture'. It documents the contribution of six Sikh Gurus, twelve saints of pre-Guru Nanak times, three contemporary saints, four servitors of Guru's Darbar, and sixteen Bhatts( minstrels) illustrated with saintly portraits by artist R. M. Singh, whose brush deftly brings alive the glorious characters of the contributors to this holy book.
Ranjodh Singh, President, REC, welcomed Sant Giani Ameer Singh, Head of Jawaddi Taksal, who presided over the function. He also gave a warm welcome to Krishan Kumar Bawa, President of the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Charitable Trust, village Raqba, under whose patronage this scholarly work has been published. He also experienced great joy in the presence of Dr. S.P. Singh Oberoi, and Sant Giani Ranjit Singh Gohar, Jathedar, Takht Shri Patna Sahib, who were the Chief Guests of the day.
Officiating Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur welcomed the distinguished speakers of the Seminar, Dr. Swaraj Singh, eminent Sikh scholar from the USA; Prof. Anurag Singh, the author of the book and Artist R.M. Singh, the illustrator of the book.
Prof. Kaur said that this book in English, Punjabi, and Hindi is an attempt to acquaint the readers of the world with the basic philosophy of the Holy Sikh Scripture—the Adi Guru Granth Sahib. Each Guru/ Saint has a brief biography followed by a poetical composition, which is their contribution to the Adi Guru Granth Sahib. It is an attempt to familiarize the reader with all the contributors of this holy book, which has a message of universal brotherhood.
Gurmeet Singh Kular, Charanjeet Singh Vishwakarma, Tejprakash Sandhu, Iqbal Singh, I.G, Gurmeet Singh Toor, Gurmeet Singh, USA, Malkeet Singh Dakha, Former Minister, Karnail Singh Gill, Baldev Bawa, Lakhwinder Singh, Umrao Singh, Daljeet Singh Chaunkiman, Jaswant Singh Chapa, members of Ramgarhia Educational Council and Principals of all Ramgarhia Institutes were also present.
The seminar ended with a note of thanks by the President of the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Charitable Trust, K K Bawa.
