Prof Bhandari takes strong exception to statement of Ashu in favour of Article 370

Ludhiana, August 17, 2019: Taking strong exception to the statement of State Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu in favour of Article 370, Prof.Rajinder Bhandari, former State President BJP, in a written statement said that the scrapping of Article 370 and 35A was the most-timely step taken by the Modi Government in strengthening and uniting the country.

In a statement here today, he added such leaders with their micro-vision and narrow political thinking is just trying to carry on the party agenda as their party is loosing political base and the faith of Indian masses.

“This courageous move has been widely appreciated and welcomed by all countrymen and leaders cutting across party lines. Even some of the central congress leaders and couple of local congress MLAs have supported it”, he added.

Further, he said, the scrapping the temporary provision in the Indian Constitution has been the main agenda of Bharatiya Janata Party ever since the days of erstwhile Jan Sangh and was already overdue in the interest of the national unity.

Prof Bhandari flayed the congress party for not taking any action on the migration of thousands of Kashmiri Pandits who were the natives of Kashmir and who were thrown out of the state.

He added by toeing this line they are actually supporting Pakistani contentions. Pakistani leaders including their Prime Minister Imran Khan have been quoting congress leaders in the World political arena as a support to their stand on Article 370.
