Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University flagged off a new tractor in front of Vice Chancellor’s Office. The tractor has been procured by Horticulture Division for its various activities like ploughing, leveling, watering, lifting garbage etc. as one tractor with the division, which was purchased in 1978, had become obsolete.
Chandigarh, September 22, 2022: Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University flagged off a new tractor in front of Vice Chancellor’s Office. The tractor has been procured by Horticulture Division for its various activities like ploughing, leveling, watering, lifting garbage etc. as one tractor with the division, which was purchased in 1978, had become obsolete.
The event was attended by Prof. R.K. Singla, ex-Dean of University Instructions; Prof. Kashmir Singh, Secretary to Vice Chancellor; Prof. Sonal Chawla, Honorary Director, IAS Coaching Centre; Prof. Sukhwinder Singh, Director, Computer Centre; Sh. Honey Thakur, President PUSA and other prominent faculty members and officers of the University and staff of the Horticulture Division.
Prof. Raj Kumar, since assuming the charge of Vice Chancellor, has been laying emphasis on use of modern machinery in the field of Horticulture to make the working of Horticulture Division more efficient, as a result of which, the campus is becoming greener and better landscaped. The Vice Chancellor on this occasion, expressed his pleasure that updation of technologies in Panjab University will help the University to serve the masses better. He extended his best wishes to the Horticulture Division on this occasion.
Er. Anil Thakur, Divisional Engineer (Horticulture) apprised those present that modern technology is the need of hour in Horticulture and this is a major step taken by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor in this direction.
