Prof Rajinder Kaur joins as new Director UILS, PU
She specializes in Private International Trade Law, Corporate Laws, and Property Laws
Chandigarh: Prof. Rajinder Kaur joined as Director at University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, here today, for a term of three years. Prof. Kaur did her LL.B. and LL.M. with First Division besides Ph.D. on “A Socio-Legal study of the Problem of Violation of Rights of the Child in India” from Panjab University and Post Graduate Diploma in Media laws from the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad.
She specializes in Private International Trade Law, Corporate Laws, and Property Laws and brings teaching & research experience of about two decades, with the rare distinction of being the youngest Professor of Law and Director at UILS. Prof. Kaur is heading Centre for Trade Laws and Dispute Resolution (CTDR) at UILS and is also visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi and Institute of Management and Technology, Ghaziabad.
She has seven books and fifty-five research articles to her credit. Last year, Prof. Kaur was invited to deliver a talk on Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University, Malibu, USA and also had been an external peer reviewer as a Foreign Quality Assurance (QA) Expert for Drawing and Painting Discipline and Printmaking Discipline of Khulna University, Bangladesh.
An alumnus of Panjab University, Prof. Kaur says her main focus will be to take UILS to further heights by imparting knowledge, skills, and values necessary to not only serve the bench/bar but also to serve the nation and society at large and to provide leadership at local, national and global level. Prof. Rajinder Kaur has replaced Prof. Rattan Singh as Director, UILS.
