Progressive farmer Amarjit Singh Dhillon joins PAU Board of Management, Visits University
Er. Amarjit Singh Dhillon, a progressive farmer from village Bargari, District Faridkot, Punjab, recently appointed as a member of the Board of Management of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), visited the university today. During his visit, he met with PAU officers and discussed the university’s teaching, research, and extension programmes, lauding PAU for its innovative contributions to agriculture.
Ludhiana, January 23, 2025: Er. Amarjit Singh Dhillon, a progressive farmer from village Bargari, District Faridkot, Punjab, recently appointed as a member of the Board of Management of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), visited the university today. During his visit, he met with PAU officers and discussed the university’s teaching, research, and extension programmes, lauding PAU for its innovative contributions to agriculture.
Expressing his gratitude and pride, Dhillon stated, “I am honoured to contribute to steering this great institution towards its vision as a board member. Agriculture is the greatest culture and a holy endeavour that feeds humanity. We must conserve our environment and water resources while helping farmers enhance their income, a mission PAU executes brilliantly.”
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, remarked, “The University will greatly benefit from Mr Dhillon’s ground-level experience as a progressive farmer with a deep passion for agriculture.”
Dr R.I.S. Gill, Estate Officer & Dr Tejinder Singh Riar, Additional Director of Communication (ADC), welcomed Mr Dhillon with a bouquet and acknowledged his significant agricultural contributions.
Key PAU officials attended the meeting, including Gurneet Singh, XEN Electrical Dr H.S. Kingra, President of the PAU Teachers Association; Dr Sukhpreet Singh, Security Officer; and. The deliberations reflected a shared commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural practices and addressing the challenges faced by farmers in Punjab.
