Chandigarh, June 16, 2023: A project report entitled “Barriers to access Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) among injecting Drug users in Chandigarh: A mixed method study” was released by the Prof. Renu Vig Vice Chancellor Panjab University, Chandigarh.

The study emphasized the importance of addressing the barriers to improve client retention in OST programs. The Project was sanctioned to Population Research Centre and Centre for Social Work Panjab University Chandigarh by Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society. 

The Research Team comprised of Dr. Sukhbir Singh, Prof. Kumool Abbi and Dr. Gaurav Gaur successfully completed the project and report has been submitted to National AIDS Control Organisation, New Delhi for policy recommendations. 

Sandeep Mittal Deputy Director (TI) and Poonam Bakshi ( M&E officer ) from Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society were also present during the report release ceremony.
