Promote traditional Ayurvedic system of medicine: Governor

Dharamsala, December 18, 2021: Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that Ayurveda is India's permanent system of medicine, which is being adopted by the world today.
The Governor said this while addressing the heads of departments of various faculties at Government Ayurvedic College, Paprola on Thursday.
He said, “It is ironic that Ayurveda medicine is taken as an alternative medicine even though it is permanent and is present in every household. This college can play an important role in changing this mindset. The government is promoting Ayurvedic medicine in a big way. Ayurvedic ‘Kaadha’ and ‘Kwath’ have been widely recognized in this era of corona epidemic.”
Praising the administration for setting up herbal gardens in the college campus, Mr Arlekar said that such herbal gardens should be a part of daily lifestyle. Through this, we can also inspire others towards medicinal plants. He said that he has spoken to the State Forest Department in this regard. He said that the college can make a significant contribution in this direction. He said that students can play the role of a catalyst in this work.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Vijay Chaudhary informed about the history, research works, and various activities of the college. Kangra's suitable Mr. Nipun Jindal, Kangra Superintendent of Police Mr. Khushal Sharma and other officers of the district administration were also present.
The Governor also planted a Rudraksh plant in the herbal garden of the college.
Earlier this morning, the Governor also offered prayers at the ancient Shiva temple at Baijnath in Kangra district.
