Promoting Mental Health Awareness through Poster Making Contest at GHSC-10
On the second day of ongoing Mental Health Awareness Workshop, Department of Human Development, Government Home Science College, Chandigarh organised a Poster-Making Contest on the theme ‘Mental Health at Work’. This contest provided a platform for the students to creatively express their perspectives on mental health and well-being.
Chandigarh, October 16, 2024: On the second day of ongoing Mental Health Awareness Workshop, Department of Human Development, Government Home Science College, Chandigarh organised a Poster-Making Contest on the theme ‘Mental Health at Work’. This contest provided a platform for the students to creatively express their perspectives on mental health and well-being.
The event witnessed a huge participation of students, each presenting unique visual representations of important mental health topics such as self-care, resilience, support systems, and breaking mental health stigmas. More than 80 submissions were received, showcasing diverse interpretations of mental health and the need for awareness. Winners were selected based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and visual impact. Moreover, the winning posters will be displayed on the final day of the workshop and will be shared on social media platforms to spread awareness about mental health.
Principal of the college, Prof.Sudha Katyal applauded the efforts of the department and emphasised that through such initiatives, conscious efforts are enacted from time to time on raising awareness about the importance of mental health, breaking stigmas, and promoting self-care and support systems. Dr. Katyal further stressed that college hopes to continue driving conversations on mental health and encourage the community to engage in mental wellness practices.
