Chandigarh, September 7, 2024: Keeping in view the significance of good health through nutrition, Department of Foods and Nutrition, Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, celebrated Poshan Maah with an innovative focus on both nutrition and entrepreneurship. 

As part of the initiative, students of M.Sc. Foods and Nutrition hosted a cafeteria showcasing healthy, protein-packed cheesy pockets and refreshing lemonade. This endeavour was more than just a celebration of nutrition—it provided a platform for the students to engage in practical entrepreneurial activities, demonstrating how food can be both nutritious and a business opportunity. The students meticulously prepared and standardized the recipes for the protein-packed cheesy pockets and lemonade, ensuring a perfect balance of health and flavour. This cafeteria not only emphasized the importance of good nutrition in everyday life but also gave the students hands-on experience in the fundamentals of running a professional food service. The students participated in mass cooking honing their culinary skills. 

The initiative highlighted how nutrition-focused products can be successfully marketed to the public, merging the goals of Poshan Maah with an entrepreneurial mindset. 

The Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, expressed great appreciation for the students' efforts, commending their innovative approach to combining nutrition awareness with entrepreneurial skills. She highlighted how this initiative exemplified the college's commitment to nurturing not only academic learning but also practical life skills. By promoting good nutrition through entrepreneurship, the students underscored the critical role of diet in public health while showcasing the potential for nutrition-focused businesses.
