Promotion for Outstanding Military Services
Jalandhar, August 16, 2024: Subedar Major/Honorary Lieutenant Harbhajan Singh of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion Jalandhar has been promoted as Honorary Captain on 78th Independence Day for his 32 years of distinguished military services. Captain Harbhajan Singh has been efficiently handling the task of imparting military training to 3000 youth in 2 Punjab NCC Battalion for the past four years. Honorary Captain Singh belongs to 7 Sikh Regiment and was born in Dasuha, Tehsil Hoshiarpur. He started his military journey on 25 August 1992 from the Sikh Regimental Centre, Ramgarh Jharkhand. He has served in the terrorist areas of Tawang, Dibrugarh, Assam, Rajouri, Surkot and Jammu and Kashmir in Arunachal Pradesh. He served as an instructor at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and has trained military cadets who are serving the country as commiosned officers. Singh was promoted at Battalion Headquarters. His mother, wife and son also attended the promotion ceremony. Battalion ANOs, JCOs, Military Instructors and Civil Staff also participated in this ceremony.
