PROTEST: 100 ration card holders not delivered ration since 4 months

Ferozepur, December 18, 2012:  Earlier the depots holders were agitating for their demands and now the ration holders have come forward to stage protest against the District Food and Supplies Controller (DFSC).

The ration holders staged protest at village Jhuge Chhilian under the leadership of Bharat Naujawan Sabha (BNS) against the food and supplies department being fed up from the attitude of depot holders and burned the effigy of DFSC besides shouting slogans.

The protest was led by the president Gurnam Singh and Mangat Singh, Sohan Sigh and Ashok Singh vice president.  Punjab president comrade Lali Jiwanarain Bharat Naujawan Sabha specially participated in the protest.  

On this occasion, addressing the protestors, state president Lali alleged, the depot holders of village Jhuge have made number of embezzlements with ration card holders.  He further said that due to strong protest by the BNS, the supplies to the depot were stopped and on restoration of supplies, there has been no change in the attitude of the depot holders.  The president said, for the last four months, about 100 ration card holders have not been supplied any ration.

Giving a warning to the government, he said, in case no action is taken immediately after this protest, the BNS would stage protest after ten days in front of the deputy commissioner’s office.

Ashok Singh, Darshan Bhata, Sarbjit Singh, Kulbir Singh, Rajbir Singh, Honey, Sanjay Sharma, Rahu, Banti, Aman and others addressed the protestors.
