TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY SERVICES TO  POOR AND NEEDY, DC GAIND ORDERS RED CROSS TO PUT ITS VENTILATOR VAN ON ROAD
Ferozepur, April 11, 2019: In an unique initiative to provide emergency health services to needy and poor people on affordable rates, the Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Chander Gaind has ordered Red Cross society to put its ventilator ambulance on the roads. Presiding over a meeting at district administrative complex, DC Gaind said that the ambulance will charge a nominal price for its services only Rs. 12 per kilometer whereas private ventilator ambulances are charging three times higher. Earlier the residents of this border led by few NGOs apprised the deputy commissioner that privates ambulances are charging Rs. Ten Thousand to Twelve Thousand from the people to Ludhiana. Responding to this, Mr Gaind said that the red cross society's ambulance will be started on nominal rates and it will run this ambulance at no profit no loss pattern, adding that he said with a fee of Rs 12 per kilometer, a patient can be rushed to Ludhiana in only Rs 3600, which is much lower than other private ambulances. It was decided in the meeting that the DC will approve the cases of discount and waiver to poor people, considering their financial condition. On this occasion DC Gaind also directed Ashok Behal, Secretary Red Cross Society to hire one male nurse and driver on immediate basis so that ambulance could be on road. He asked civil surgeon Mr. Rajinder Kumar and representatives of Baghi Hospital and Mission Hospital to train the male nurse to operate ventilator system of the ambulance. He ordered the civil surgeon to train other medical staff to operate ventilator ambulance so that their services can be rendered in case of any emergency. The deputy commissioner ordered Secretary Red Cross Society to complete whole hiring process as early as possible. On the occasion Assistant Commissioner Ranjit Singh, representatives of various hospitals were present.
