Chandigarh, July 25, 2014: The Punjab government has appointed Punjab Technical University (PTU) as the competent authority to make admission to Masters of Applied Management, five year dual degree course
A spokesman of the Punjab government said that the PTU would provide an under graduate degree in 3 or 4 years (BM/BAM) being run in the Sai Institute of Management, Mannawala, Amritsar and Punjab Institute of Management & Technology, near GPS, GT Road at Mandi Gobindgarh, followed by a Master degree in five years (MAM) for the academic session 2014-15. Both institutes have 60 seats each including 20 each for arts, science and commerce.
The duration of courses would be a total period of 5 years spread over 10 semesters. He has also made it clear that BAM would not be awarded to one who has acquired a BM degree however a certificate for credits acquired at 4th year shall be given. Besides that 85% seats have been reserved for the candidates from within the state of Punjab and 15% would be opened to all candidates from outside the State.
He further said that Admission to these courses shall be based on marks obtained at 12th through a separate merit list created for the purpose based on the Science stream, Commerce stream and Art stream. In case of non-availability of students from one stream, remaining seats may be allotted to other two streams on equal basis. In case of non-availability of students from two streams, remaining seats in those streams may be allotted to students from third stream.
