PTU's Joint Registrar Jaspal Singh passes away

Jalandhar, November 9, 2014: After the long tussle with illness, Punjab Technical University (PTU)'s Joint Registrar Jaspal Singh passed away today morning at 11.

Fifty years of age, Singh lost a battle over cancer.  He was one of the oldest employees of university and has served various portfolios like Distance Education and Examination, VC Secretariat.  Prior going on leave for the treatment, he served as controller of examination.

PTU VC Dr. Rajneesh Arora expressed his grief over sudden and untimely death of Singh and said that PTU family is with the grieved family.

The cremation of the Singh held at Harnamdaspura ground today where PTU family- Registrar Dr. Rajneesh Kant Sachdev; Dean RIC Dr. A P Singh; Director Colleges Dr. Balkar Singh;  Deputy Controller of Examination Paramjit Singh; PRO Rajneesh Sharma;  Deputy Registrar Dr. Ekonkar Singh; PTU Xen H P Singh and staff and others paid their tributes.

Besides, Ramesh Mittal, Chairman, Lovely Group; Manhar Arora, MD, St. Soldier Group; Prof. C L Kochar from DAV University and R L Sanghal, Principal, DAVIET, were present during the last rituals.

Singh has been survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
