PU Administrative block, VC Office and some other departments/buildings closed for few days
Due to the rise in Covid positive cases on the campus
Chandigarh: It has been reported to the Panjab University authorities that several hostel cleaners, attendants, mali (gardener,) and mess canteen workers (35-40 in number) including Wardens and the Office Staff have become COV1D positive in the past few days. In addition to this, two of the non-teaching staff members have lost their lives recently due to COVID-19. The numbers of COV1D positive cases on the campus are also on rise. Due to the rise in COVID positive cases on the campus, Administrative block, Vice-Chancellor Office and some other departments/buildings have been closed for few days.
Prof. S.K.Tomar, Dean Student Welfare, PU informed that PU has already issued the advisory two times that the hostel residents should go back to their families for their safety and health latest by 15th May, 2021. In order to break the chain of continuing increasing infection of corona virus, it is hereby again advised that those who are still staying in the hostels should go back to their homes as early as possible. It is in the larger interest of all of us and for the safety of the residents & staff from the current pandemic.
