PU Assistant Professor bags prestigious BIG-BIRAC Innovation Grant
Dr. Ranjana Bhandari currently working as an Assistant Professor (Temporary) at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh has received the prestigious Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) of Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) which is a Public Sector Enterprise, set up by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India.

Chandigarh, September 22, 2022: Dr. Ranjana Bhandari currently working as an Assistant Professor (Temporary) at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh has received the prestigious Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) of Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) which is a Public Sector Enterprise, set up by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India.
BIG-BIRAC scheme includes a grant amount of approx 50 Lakhs. This grant has been awarded to AKB Innovant Healthcare Pvt Ltd., a startup company owned by Dr. Ranjana Bhandari and incubated at BIONEST, Panjab University, Chandigarh. BIONEST, is an official incubator by BIRAC at Panjab University & is headed by Dr. Rohit Sharma. The startup would be developing “A novel chewable gel, a platform technology for Autistic Patients”.
Dr. Ranjana has been scientifically mentored and supported by a strong team of established scientific advisors & mentors such as Dr. Anurag Kuhad, Assistant Professor at UIPS, Panjab University, Chnadigarh, Dr. Jyoti K Paliwal, currently Director PhaEx Consulting, Gurgaon & Ex Vice-President of Workardt & Ex-Director of Ranbaxy & CDRI, Lucknow and Prof. Bikash Medhi, Professor & Additional Medical Superintendent (AMS), Coordinator of Pharmacovigilance Centre, Department of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
