PU condemns assault incident

Chandigarh, December 10, 2019: Panjab University, Chandigarh strongly condemned the recent incident of assault on woman in the Campus. Prof.Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, PU said that the incident was very unfortunate and University is taking necessary measures to curb such kind of incidents in future. Taking a serious note related to the security of residents, specially women residents of the Campus, Prof.Ashwani Koul, Chief University Security is asked to take all necessary steps on priority and any loopholes, if any, shall be plugged immediately. A MEETING OF STATE HIGHER EDUCATION COUNCIL UNDER RUSA WAS HELD Chandigarh, December 10, 2019: A meeting of State Higher Education Council under RUSA was held here today at State Project Directorate, Chandigarh under the Chairmanship of Professor Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The Council reviewed the physical and financial progress made under infrastructure grant received from MHRD under RUSA 1.0 and 2.0. Prof. Raj Kumar emphasised that those colleges having less utilisation of grant may be advised to expedite the timely utilization of the grant. Details about approval of Rs.50 crore grant under RUSA 2.0 to Panjab University under component 10 (Research Innovation and Quality improvements) were discussed. The status of assessment and accreditation of various affiliated colleges in Chandigarh was also reviewed and resolved that the colleges having B+ Grade should be pro-active in initialisation various activities leading to better NAAC score.
