PU Hostels discuss healthy diet to fight covid 19
The talk was on the healthy diet to be taken during this Pandemic
Chandigarh: A team of wardens Dr. Rajeev (BH-1), Dr. Praveen (BH-5), Dr Nidhi Gautam (GH-5), Dr Jai Mala (GH-7) and Dr Avneet (WWH) organised a webinar for the hostel residents on the topic "Healthy Diet to fight COVID-19" by Nutritionist Dharamjit Singh, retired from Agriculture University, Gwalior.
The talk was on the healthy diet to be taken during this Pandemic. He recommended everyone to follow the traditional diet which was followed by our ancestors like air, water, sun and healthy food. He suggested everyone to have sun bath for at least half an hour daily during morning hours for Vitamin D. He emphasized on breathing exercises to boost our immunity for the proper supply of oxygen to our body cells. He advised to have water from the earthen pots. According to him RO water systems are not healthy for human body as it destroys all the minerals from the water. He advocated to have at least three earthen pots so that one can be used for water, second filled with water and put outside for 24 hours so that it can have sun and air, third one must be dried under the sun to avoid fungus. He suggested to keep a rotation of these earthen pots for proper utilization. He also advised everyone to add sprouts, seasonal fruit and soya milk to the daily diet.
This webinar was attended by the more than 70 participants. There were lot of queries by the participants for which organizers have decided to arrange more such webinars.
