PU hosts Bootcamp on Data Science and AI using Python concludes

Chandigarh, October 11, 2024: The valedictory function of the Bootcamp on Data Science and AI Using Python, hosted by the Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (CSDE) with University Business School (UBS), Panjab University, was held on Thursday. Steered by expert academicians and practitioners, the intense thirty-hour Bootcamp empowered the participants with the knowledge and skills to unravel the analytical side of decision-making. The first-year master of business administration students learnt the preliminaries of Python, model development, and evaluation, as well as ML for social network analysis, ChatGPT, as well as generative AI and tools.

The Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker, Gursimrat Singh Bhullar, Talent Acquisition Partner, Page Outsourcing, addressed the participating students, highlighting the versatility of Python programming language. He emphasised the crucial role of soft skills in empowering humans to thrive and collaborate effectively, complementing AI, and assessing their impact on individuals and organisations. While AI excels in efficiency and automation, soft skills enable individuals to complement and collaborate effectively with AI systems. Being an alumnus of UBS (2016-2018), Bhullar encouraged the students to make the best use of this opportunity, as this is a commendable initiative of Panjab University through its Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. He closed by quoting Ratan Tata, “I don’t believe in taking right decisions. I take decisions and then make them right.”
