Chandigarh, November 26, 2024: The Department of Laws, Panjab University commemorated National Law Day today, an annual event celebrating the adoption of the Indian Constitution on 26th November 1949. This event reflects on the principles and values enshrined in the Constitution, serving as a moment to reaffirm our commitment to its ideals.
The occasion was graced by an esteemed panel of legal luminaries. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, former Judge, Supreme Court of India, delivered the keynote address as the Guest Speaker, offering profound insights into the enduring relevance of constitutional values in modern India.
The event was further enriched by the presence of two Guests of Honour, Justice Arijit Pasayat, former Judge, Supreme Court of India, and Justice Ajay Kumar Mittal, former Chief Justice, Madhya Pradesh High Court. Both dignitaries shared their experiences and perspectives on safeguarding constitutional principles and the role of legal professionals in upholding justice.
Faculty members, students, and legal professionals attended the event, reflecting the commitment of the academic community to understanding and upholding the Constitution. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the distinguished guests for their invaluable contributions.
