Chandigarh, November 4, 2024: The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University(PU), Chandigarh, today organised a Special Lecture on “India Knowledge System (IKS): Concept Significance in the Contemporary Era” and “Advanced Data Visualisation through Tableau Desktop”.
Dr. Shivangi Kaushik, Assistant Professor at Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi delivered the lecture, which was attended by Faculty members, research scholars, and students of B.Lib.I.Sc and M.Lib.I.Sc.
Dr. Shivangi talked about the Indian knowledge system and expanding world economy. She also referred to the challenges of the global economy and role of growth of Indian infrastructure in it. She mentioned the most prolific authors of the Indian origin and their impact on mathematics, astronomy, medicine and other fields.
Dr. Shivangi began her lecture by giving an overview on Tableau, American interactive data visualisation software used for representation data in the form of Graphs, Tables and pie charts. She demonstrated the Tableau’s functionality and students actively participated in hands-on exercises. At the end of lectures, a question answer sessions was held among all the participants.
