PU Professor appointed Associate Editor of a reputed international journal (Journal of Infection in Developing Countries)
This is a matter of great pride for Panjab University that Dr. Kewal Krishan, Professor and former Chair of the Department of Anthropology has been appointed as an Associate Editor of an international and reputed journal “Journal of Infection in Developing Countries (JIDC)”.
Chandigarh, July 23, 2022: This is a matter of great pride for Panjab University that Dr. Kewal Krishan, Professor and former Chair of the Department of Anthropology has been appointed as an Associate Editor of an international and reputed journal “Journal of Infection in Developing Countries (JIDC)”. The journal is being published from 2007 with its headquarters at University of Sassari, Italy. The JIDC has an impact factor of 2.552 and has been indexed in all major international indexing services such as PubMed/MEDLINE, SCOPUS etc. JIDC is envisioned to publish all sorts of articles from related to different aspects of infections and in developing countries with particular emphasis on emerging and re-emerging etiological agents, diagnosis, epidemiology and public health. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the journal emerged as one of the best knowledge providers regarding latest information pertaining to Coronavirus.
Dr. Krishan has been offered this position on the basis of his commendable work on the interface of Anthropology, forensic science and COVID-19 infection during the last two years of pandemic. In this journal, Dr. Krishan published 6 articles focusing on medico-legal death investigations, survival of the fittest, and forensic radiology facility etc. and their relationship to COVID-19 pandemic. He is already on the editorial panel of highly rated forensic and medical journals such as Forensic Science International, Medicine Science and the law, Frontiers in Public Health, Acta Biomedica, Archives of Public Health.
Dr. Krishan is a renowned forensic anthropologist and one of the most cited researchers in the field of Anthropology and forensic science worldwide. He has published more than 283 articles, most of which are in international journals of repute. He has more than 35000 citations of the research work to his credit. He has been Included among the Top 2% scientists of the world by STANFORD-ELSEVIER analysis for the years 2020 and 2021.
