PU Professor Dr.Sushil Kumar Kansal awarded

Chandigarh, October 9, 2019: Dr.Sushil Kumar Kansal, Professor of Dr.SSB University Institute of Chemical Engg., Panjab University has been awarded with “Hiyoshi Think of Ecology Award” by Hiyoshi Ecological Services, Hiyoshi Corporation, Japan in recognition of outstanding research and application in the field of Environmental Conservation and Protection in India at Nagaaki Yamamoto Seminar Hall, ABK-AOTS DOSOKAI, Tamilnadu Centre, Chennai. His Excellency Kojiro Uchiyama, Consul General of Japan in Chennai has given this award to Dr. Kansal. The award carries a citation, a trophy and a cash prize of Rs.25,000.
Prof.Kansal has more than 20 years of teaching as well as research experience in Environmental Science and Engg. The main emphasis of his research is to develop low cost treatment technologies and efficient sensors which can be easily used and afforded by developing countries. He has many fellowships and awards in his credit including DAAD Fellowship, Germany; Visiting Scientist to South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China; Nominated Visiting Scholar to visit Mauritius by UGC, Govt. of India; Visiting Faculty to University of Waterloo, Canada and Mentor, Newton-Bhabha India-UK Advanced Training Course in Waste Water Treatment at University of Hull, UK. His total numbers of publications are 110. Professor Kansal has an H-index: 29 with total citations more than 3100 (Google Scholar) and is involved in a number of research projects funded by many agencies including UGC, AICTE, DST, and MHRD, TEQIP. Currently, he is supervising 8 Ph Ds and 07 master’s students. Recently, he has also been awarded with Smt. Prem Lata Jain Best Researcher Award (2017) by Smt. Prem Lata Jain and Prof. D. V. S. Jain Research Foundation.
