PU Professor Leads Science Policy Delegation to UK

Chandigarh, June 13, 2019: The delegation of 8 scientists led by a science policy expert, Professor Rupinder Tewari, Coordinator, DST-Centre for Policy Research, Panjab University, Chandigarh will be visiting UK to participate in a one week workshop on ‘Science, Technology, Innovation (STI) Policy for Turbulent Times’ being held in University of Sussex, Brighton, UK from June 17-21, 2019. The visit is sponsored by Department of Science & Technology, GoI. The visit will help the scientists to understand the STI policy of UK and identify good practices that can be emulated in the Indian ecosystem. Last year, a similar visit of Indian scientists to USA was sponsored by DST, GoI to get a feel of US Science Policy and its administration. This visit was also coordinated by Prof. Tewari. Dr MansimranKaur, a young and bright STI post doc fellow of DST-CPR at PU has been chosen by DST, GoI as a part of the delegation. Other delegates have been chosen from IIT-Delhi, IISc-Bangalore and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University,Lukhnow.
