PU receives research proposals for over 200 Crore from Faculty
Chandigarh, January 10, 2019: On the initiative of the Panjab University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Raj Kumar, the PU faculty and Regional & Rural Centers have submitted 22 research proposals to the University for possible funding from various Ministries and funding agencies amounting to over Rupees 225 crores for manpower, equipment and infrastructure costs. The research proposals broadly include subjects related to Forensic Science, English and Cultural Studies, School of Communication Studies, Computer Sciences & Applications, Chemistry, Economic, Language, Geology, Defence & National Security Studies, Environment Studies, Equal Opportunity Cell – PWD, Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology etc. PU VC constituted a committee comprising of Prof. Shankarji Jha, Officiating Dean Research, Prof. Devinder Mehta, Dean (Sciences), Prof. Gurpal Singh, Dean (Languages), Prof. H.S. Bains, Dean (Engineering), Prof. Pam Rajput, Dean (Arts), Prof. Ronki Ram, Department of Political Science, Prof. S.K. Tomar, Department of Mathematics, Prof. Sanjeev Puri, Director, Centre for Industry Institute Partnership and Prof. Rajat Sandhir, Department of Biochemistry to interface with the faculty members to facilitate the process of funding and to identify suitable funding agencies for research projects. The committee in its meeting held here today decided to constitute discipline-wise sub committees to facilitate the process of submission of the proposals to funding sources.
