PU scientist secured 16th rank in forensics worldwide among top 2% scientists
Chandigarh, February 4, 2024: Dr. Kewal Krishan, Professor and former Chair of the Department of Anthropology and Dean, International Students, Panjab University, Chandigarh, brought laurels to Panjab University as he secured 16th rank in forensic science research worldwide. He was able to secure this rank amongst a list of 13,761 top 2% forensic scientists of the world in the category of “Legal and Forensic Medicine”. This was revealed in a recently updated bibliometric analysis conducted by a team of scientists from Stanford University and the Elsevier BV-A leading scientific publisher. The scientists have been selected on the basis of numerous measures including the number of papers published, citations received and Scopus h-index.
Dr. Krishan is a well-known forensic scientist who has conducted varied research onseveral aspects of human morphology and their forensic applications. His research on fingerprints, footprints and identification from human remains has been widely accepted. He has research collaborations with many leading scientists of the world. He has published 332 papers having more than 66,000 citations. Many of his papers have been published in the top journals of the world such as Nature and The Lancet. He is also on the panel of editors of many international journals of repute.
