PU Signs MoU with Nottingham Trent University for Dual Post-Doctoral Degree Program

Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, and Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK, have entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a collaborative Dual Doctoral Degree program. The signing ceremony, which took place here today, marks an exciting new chapter in the longstanding relationship between the two leading institutions of India and UK.

Chandigarh, February 17, 2025: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, and Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK, have entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a collaborative Dual Doctoral Degree program. The signing ceremony, which took place here today, marks an exciting new chapter in the longstanding relationship between the two leading institutions of India and UK.
 
The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor of Panjab University, Professor Renu Vig, and was honored by the presence of Her Excellency Ms. Caroline Rowett, British Deputy High Commissioner, who also graced the occasion. The delegation constituted Prof. Richard Emes, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research and International), Prof. Neil Mansfield, Executive Dean for Research and International Reputation (formerly Head of Engineering at NTU), Mr. Stephen Williams, Director, NTU Global, Dr. Clare Newstead, Associate Director, NTU Global, Dr. Gareth Cave, Principal Lecturer in Chemistry (International Lead for Chemistry and Forensics).
 
Several key leaders from PU also attended the meeting, including Prof. Rumina Sethi, Dean of University Instructions, Prof. Monika Aggarwal (Director, UIAMS), Prof. Sanjeev Sharma (Director, IQAC), Prof. Sanjeev Puri (Director, UIET), Dr. Gaurav  Sapra (UIET), Dr. Prashant Jindal (UIET), Dr. Rajesh Kumar (UIET), Prof. Prabhdip Brar (Chairperson, UIFT), Prof. Shruti Bedi (Chairperson, UILS), Prof Anupama Sharma (Chairperson, UICET) underscoring the broad support and involvement across multiple faculties at Panjab University.

Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor shared her views and emphasised on further strengthening and advancing of the global research opportunities with NTU, UK. PU DUI Prof. Rumina Sethi appreciated the move. Earlier, the event witnessed the warm welcome of the visiting delegation from NTU, UK by Prof. Kewal Krishan, Dean of International Students at Panjab University.
 
The collaboration is expected to strengthen the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and research methodologies between the universities and create new avenues for international collaboration in academia.
 
Panjab University and Nottingham Trent University share a rich and robust academic relationship that has grown over many years, particularly through joint research initiatives and student exchange programs. The latest MoU further consolidates their commitment to fostering global academic cooperation.
