Chandigarh, February 7, 2015: The Central Placement Cell, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh started the 10-session non-credit course on Personality Development for the students of PU.

The session was held for the students of eleven departments that had got registered for the non-credit course with the Central Placement Cell. The co-coordinator for the course, Dr.Manjushri Sharma, introduced the speaker for the day Dr. Sohan Singh Chandel. He is a renowned psychologist and 16 year experienced corporate trainer with a proven record in the field of emotional and spiritual intelligence and its impact on performance.

84 students from departments of Library Sciences, Education, French and Fashion Technology attended the first slot of session from 4 PM to 5 PM.  The inaugural address was given by the PU Registrar Col. G.S. Chadha.  Dean, Students Welfare (DSW), Prof. Navdeep Goyal and Honorary Director, Central Placement Cell, Prof.S.K. Chadha also blessed the audience with their words of wisdom.

The second slot of session (5.15 PM to 6.15 PM) was attended by 89 students from departments of Zoology, Anthropology, System Biology, Public Health, Philosophy and Human Genome.

Throughout these two sessions, the speaker kept the students thoroughly engaged. In fact, the students wanted an encore on the presentation, even though it was quite late in the evening.

The second lecture of the session series is being conducted on February 9, 2015. The workshop could be conducted every Monday and Thursday from 4 PM to 5 PM and then 5.15 PM to 6.15 PM.

At the end of the session, co-ordinator of the course, Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, thanked the students and apprised team of the formalities regarding the registration, attendance record maintenance, and online feedback submission for all the sessions. (SK Vyas/Jalandhar)
