PUAA organises online reading workshop for school students

Chandigarh: Panjab University Alumni Association organized an enriching and wonderful Online Reading workshop for the school students under the guidance of Professor Deepti Gupta, Dean,Alumni Relations. 
The  Reading workshop emphasized on developing literary skills in the students wherein the works of some important writers were taught to the students. The workshop also focused on enhancing reading skills , vocabulary and literary intelligence in the students. 

The online Reading  workshop was conducted from 6th May to 11th May .
 
Day 1-
Day 1 was followed by an inspiring message by the Principal Dr. Duggal  who motivated students to participate in the online Reading workshop to enhance their literary skills. 
Miss. Mansi Jawrani , the resource person for the workshop read out a beautiful story ‘Kabuliwala’ by the great poet Rabindra Nath Tagore that inspired students to understand the importance of friendship in their lives.
Students were also motivated to film their own videos on what they learnt from the story.
The students actively participated in filming their own videos on the story which was later followed by the feedback by the trainer.
 
Day 2-
Day 2 was followed by another inspiring reading of the poem ‘The Ballad of Father Gilligan’ by WB Yeats.
The poem inspired the students to learn the importance of faith in God who never forgets his children.
The best student story tellers were also featured in the video lecture. 
 
Students were also motivated to film their own videos on what they learnt from the poem.
The students actively participated in filming their own videos on the story which was later followed by the feedback by the trainer.
 
Day 3-
The online video lecture focused on helping students enhance their vocabulary. The students were encouraged to make maximam sentences out of the words taught. 
Day 4- 
 
Day 4 was followed by another inspiring reading of the poem ‘No Men are Foreign’ by James Kirkup.
The poem inspired the students to learn the importance of brotherhood  and equality in the war driven world.
The best student story tellers were also featured in the video lecture. 
 
Students were also motivated to film their own videos on what they learnt from the poem.
The students actively participated in filming their own videos on the poem which was later followed by the feedback by the trainer.
 
 
Day 5- 
 
Day 5 was followed by another inspiring reading of the poem ‘IF’ by Rudyard Kipling 
The poem inspired the students to learn the importance of faith in oneself in order to conquer the world.
Students were also motivated to film their own videos on what they learnt from the poem.
The students actively participated in filming their own videos on the poem which was later followed by the feedback by the trainer.
 
Day 6-
Day 6  was followed by the reading of an emotionally yet powerful story ‘Maggie cuts her hair’ by George Eliot.
Students were also motivated to film their own videos on what they learnt from the poem.

The Online Reading workshop helped students -
