Ludhiana, October 25, 2024: Industry and Commerce Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond announced on Friday that Punjab is aiming to attract investments totaling Rs 20000 crore over the next year, thanks to its business-friendly policies.
Speaking during an event at CICU, Focal Point, Sond highlighted that the industry is the core of the state's economy and the AAP government is dedicated to providing significant support for its growth. He emphasized the government's commitment to protecting the interests of local businesses.
Sond also unveiled plans for an exhibition center for industries in the cycle valley, as demanded, and announced to introduce a new policy to further assist businesses in expanding. The government will also allocate Rs five crore for cluster development. He mentioned that the Tata Steel plant worth Rs 3800 crore in the cycle valley, is expected to greatly benefit the local industry, creating thousands of job opportunities for young people.
Additionally, the Minister shared that the government is increasing its focus on preparing a skilled workforce to meet industry demands. The Sarkar Santkar Milnis are being hosted in the state to engage with local industry stakeholders and collect feedback. He also pointed out that Punjab has been recognized as a top state in the country for business.
The CEO of Invest Punjab and Director of Industry Punjab DPS Kharbanda reiterated the state government's full support for industrialists by ensuring a smooth business environment.
