Punjab Basketball Association honour state’s players, coaches and sports promoters 

Ludhiana, August 29, 2022: Punjab Basketball Association organised an impressive function on Sunday presided by R S Gill IPS DGP (Retd) Punjab also President PBA to honour Punjab’s players, coaches and sports promoters. 

Prominent players who were honoured with cash prizes were all the team members of Punjab State’s Basketball Teams which won Gold at 70th  Sr. Men Ludhiana (2019) Nationals,71st Junior National, Indore  (Girls)2021 and Silver Medalists of 71st Sr Men’s Punjab team which played at Chennai. Many players of these teams are also representing Punjab in India’s National teams to play international players. All these players have been groomed at Ludhiana Basketball Academy Coaches who too were honoured. Many players who now serve Punjab Police too were honoured. The association also honoured all those philanthropists and sports promoters who have been helping Punjab Basketball Association in its daily activities at Ludhiana and other centres both with cash and kind support to support the game. 

Teja Singh Dhaliwal said that Basketball sports activities are possible due to the support of donors only. Those who were honored are: Dr. Muki Gill,Principal Govt. Khalsa College Ludhiana, Gurdeep Singh Jhuajjar,Chairman, Fastway, Jai Singh Sandhu,(MD SPS Hospitals), M.P Singh Sehgal, Dr. Tajinder Singh Riar,Addl. Director Communication, PAU Lothiana, Balwinder Singh Lyallpuri ,President, Gurudwara Pheruman, Pritpal Singh,President, Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran SahibGurdeep Singh Shera,President, Gurudwara Kalgidhar Sahib,. Gurpreet Kaur Bajwa,International Basketball player,Parminder Singh Bhandal,Arjuna Awardee & International Basketball player,Dr. Bhupinder Singh Punia,Principal, Govt. College of Physical Education Patiala National Basketball Coach, Anoop Singh Yadav,International Basketball Coach, Satish Kumar,Dy Director Sports, Punjab & National Basketball Coach, Rajinder Singh,National Basketball Coach, Vijay Chopra, Sports Promoter,Suman Sharma,Arjuna Awardee and International Basketball player.

The honouring functioning was attended by Yurinder Singh Hayer IPS Retd.Sr VP PBA ,MS Bhullar DCP VP PBA,J P Singh PCS Retd VP PBA, Vijay Chopra Treasurer PBA, Jagroop Singh Jarkhar, Prof Rajinder Singh among many others.
