Punjab beat Goa by 17 runs to enter Quarter Finals of Women’s Senior One Day Trophy 2021-22

Mohali, November 13, 2021: Punjab State Women’s Senior One Day Team played their Pre-Quarter final Inter-State match for Women’s Senior One Day Trophy 2021-22 against Goa Cricket Association at M. Chinnaswamy, Stadium, Bangalore.
Punjab won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first Goa bundled out for 179 runs in 48.3 0vers. Skipper Sikha Pandey made 49 runs off 75 balls with four boundaries and Sanjula Sudhakar Naik scored 40 runs off 69 balls with six boundaries were the main run getters for Goa. Komalpreet Kaur took 2 wickets for 41 runs , Neelam Bisht took 3 wickets for 23 runs and Sunita Rani took 2 wickets for 30 runs were the most successful wicket takers for Punjab CA.
Replying Punjab CA was playing at 142 runs for loss of 3 wickets in 41.2 overs when the match stopped due to rain and couldn’t start again. Applying the VJD method Punjab won the match by 17 runs. Praveen khan scored unbeaten 44 runs off 96 balls with four boundaries, Ridhima Aggarwal scored 38 runs off 56 balls with four boundaries and one six and Kanika Ahuja scored unbeaten 34 runs off 57 balls with two boundaries were the main run getters for Punjab CA. Sikha Pandey, Poorva Bhaidkar and Tejashwani took 1 wicket each were the most successful wicket takers for Goa.
NEXT MATCH (Quarter Final 1) will be played on 15 November 2021, 09:00 IST at Alur Cricket Stadium, Bangalore inbetween Maharashtra vs Punjab.
