Punjab Breaking News- All departments asked to identify cyber security threats in departmental applications


Chandigarh, December 8, 2014: The Punjab Government has issued instructions to all departments to immediately designate Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) with immediate effect and convey his name to the directorate of Governance Reforms.
According to an official spokesperson National Critical Information Infrastructure protection centre (NCIIPC), Government of India, a National Nodal Agency in respect of critical information infrastructure has issued directions to all state governments to designate Chief Information Security Officers in all departments. The CISOs have been assigned the job of identifying critical information infrastructure and further conduct vulnerability /threat/risk analysis and applying cyber security controls to mitigate the same.
All departments have been directed to send the name and designations of designated CSIOs.
