Punjab CM Channi visited LPU to launch Punjab Government’s Rozgar Guarantee for Youth Scheme (PRAGTY)
Says LPU is the best Institution of the country for gaining knowledge and skills
Jalandhar, January 4, 2022: Chief Minister of Punjab S Charanjit Singh Channi reached Lovely Professional University (LPU) campus, today, where he launched ‘Punjab Government’s Rozgar Guarantee for Youth Scheme (PRAGTY) 2022 at Baldev Raj Mittal UniPolis (Open Auditorium) of the University. Many thousands of Polytechnic and ITI students of the Punjab State witnessed the mega launching ceremony for this unique initiative taken by the present government for their bright career ahead.
Punjab Cabinet Minister for Technical Education & Industrial Training Rana Gurjeet Singh, Lovely Group Chairman Mr Ramesh Mittal, Vice Chairman Mr Naresh Mittal, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal, Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal, and Senior Officers of the State welcomed the elite guest, Hon’ble CM Punjab, at the launching venue.
Being immensely happy on seeing the energy full youth at LPU campus from all quarters, Hon’ble CM Channi appreciated LPU for its education implementation procedures and mentioned: “Whosoever did not read at LPU, has indeed never read at all.” Talking about the ‘Rozgar Guarantee Scheme’, he underlined that every year more than one lac students of the state will be given employment as per their skills and knowledge. He also added that special free coaching classes for developing skills will be provided by the state government, even be these for IAS, PCS, IELTS, TOEFL courses or allied ones. Moreover, Punjab Government will also make interest free loans available to the needy for study abroad and entrepreneurship programmes. He also appreciated ‘Punjabi Youth’ as it brings glory to the nation be it through the front line borders, sports fields, or immense progress made not only in the country but on foreign lands also.
Prior to this, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal quoted Hon’ble CM Channi Jee as quick decision maker who plans, decides and implements the things on the spot for sure actions for the benefit of the state, in particular youth. He also recognized him as a man of promise, and thanked Hon’ble CM for his graceful visit at the campus to launch the most beneficial scheme for the youth. Cabinet Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh Jee also shared about the vision of the Government of Punjab for sure employment of the youth.
Also present on this occasion were Principal Secretary EGSDT, Dilip Kumar (IAS); Member of Parliament (MPs) of Jalandhar, Kapurthala & Khadoor Sahib; Chairman Punjab Agro Joginder Singh Maan; MLAs of Sultanpur Lodhi and Kapurthala; Deputy Commissioner of Kapurthala Ms Deepti Uppal; Police Commissioner Naunihal Singh; Director -cum - Special Secretary M.K. Aravind Kumar(IAS); and, a many dignitaries from various sections of the society.
On this occasion, a short video about the employment programme was displayed and cultural performance about the Punjab was also made by LPU students of the cultural department.
